All of us play multiple roles in our lives, right?  As mothers, career women, entrepreneurs, educators, we know that a good command of English helps.

English & Moms

“Ibu bapa adalah guru pertama dan guru terbaik anak-anak.” As moms in this day and age, we understand that English skill is an asset for our kids.  It’s not that we want our kids to speak English 100% (it’s great if they can).  What we want is when they are in a situation where they have to speak English, they can speak comfortably.  That’s a reasonable expectation, don’t you think?

Isn’t it wonderful when we can create English-friendly surrounding at home?  Even better when we, mothers, make the first move.  We speak, we read, we listen, we write in English.

Isn’t it great when our kids can refer to us when they have questions?  Most books are in English.  Most source of information are in English.  When confusion arises, rather than they seek explanation from someone else, it is always safe that they get their answers from their mothers. US!

So, mommies – let’s be more COMFORTABLE in using English for our own sake and for our kids’s sake, InshaAllah.

English & Entrepreneurs

When a supplier from Egypt talks to a factory owner in China, they use English.  When a Korean businessman negotiates with a client from Argentina, they use English.  That’s the global situation.

Let’s look closer to home.  For online bizladies out there, we can reach wider market when our blogs or websites are written in English, right?  We might even get an order from someone who are not fluent in BM and like it or not, we have to use English.

So, why wait until we are in a desperate situation to brush up our English?
